John Garner – former Chairman of Interferry’s Regulatory Committee – will join Johan to discuss the disolution of the Regulatory Committee and introduce Interferry’s new Regulatory Forum format as they call for member support and nominations. Interferry Chairman Götz Becker will then join Johan to introduce Interferry’s Small Ferry Operators Committee and invite member particpation.

Lessons Learned in the Journey to Electrification
Electrification is transforming the global ferry industry, but the path from ambition to implementation is rarely straightforward. As operators invest in zero-emission fleets, success depends on far more than procuring electric vessels—it requires coordinated planning across vessel design, port infrastructure, utilities, regulators, technology partners, and government.
This session will bring together industry stakeholders and their insights one of the most significant transformations in the ferry industry’s history. Attendees will gain practical insights into global trends, managing risk, infrastructure planning, stakeholder collaboration, regulatory considerations, and the operational realities of integrating electric vessels into existing fleets.
This session will conclude with a 25-minute panel discussion led by Moderator Claes Berglund who serves as the Director of Public Affairs and Sustainability for Stena. Delegates will be able to submit questions for discussion via the conference app.
