Technical Tour • Electric Mobility & River Sustainability Experience

Our Technical Tours are always a great way to cap off another Interferry conference. This year is no different as the Interferry2026 Technical Tour will feature an Electric Mobility & River Sustainability Experience on the Chao Phraya River with visits to Thai Smile Bus Co. (operators of electric ferries) and The Ocean Cleanup vessel the Interceptor.

At 9am on November 4th, half of the Tech Tour participants will depart from the Shangri-La Bangkok’s river front pier and travel on an electric ferry to the Thai Smile Bus ferry operation headquarters. They will take part in a welcome briefing and presentation, get an overview of operations and key initiatives, followed by a Q&A session. Participants will then enjoy a technical site visit including the EV charging infrastructure and the marine operations control room.

Also at 9am, the other half of the Tech Tour participants will be ferried by Riva Express boat – the premium service operated by conference host Chao Phraya Express Boat – to the Ocean Cleanup site where they will enjoy an introductory briefing by the Ocean Cleanup team. Next, they will visit The Ocean Cleanup’s Interceptor vessel.

After the completion of the first half of the tour, participants will then rotate and be ferried to the other tour site. Once the visits to both the Thai Smile Bus and The Ocean Cleanup sites have been completed, participants will have the option to return to the Thai Smile Bus headquarters where lunch will be served or to transfer directly back to the Shangri-La Bangkok hotel. Those not having lunch will be returned to the Shangri-La at Noon and those having lunch will return at 1pm.
