Rauma Marine Constructions, RMC, is the new beginning of an old story. The long shipbuilding traditions in Rauma form a solid base for continuing construction of high value added ships. Founded in 2014 RMC, as a Finnish maritime cluster company, started a new era for meeting both global and domestic challenges. RMC, the shipyard in Rauma, has earned back its position as a leading yard for design and construction of car-passenger ferries, icebreakers for polar and domestic ice-covered waters as well as naval craft for the Finnish Defence. We represent world-leading expertise in technology for these segments, i.e. areas strongly relied upon by the network, know-how and competitiveness of the Finnish marine industry. Several of the major operators of large car-passenger ferries and ropax vessels are sailing on keels constructed in Rauma. Their recurring return to the shipyard for a next-generation ferry or special vessel is most awarding for RMC. It compiles natural steps securing the development, sustainability and energy efficiency for preserving the environment.

Passenger Ship Technology provides insightful coverage of cruise ships, ferries and fast ferries operating anywhere in the world.

Passenger Ship Technology is a quarterly magazine focusing exclusively on the technology used in passenger shipping. Focusing on the ships themselves, rather than the destinations, the magazine covers cruise ship and ferry design, construction, outfitting, equipping, refurbishment, operation and maintenance – and the legislation that influences these.

Our readers are predominately cruise and ferry superintendents, technical and operational management who specify requirements and evaluate available solutions. Passenger Ship Technology is circulated to those companies who own, operate and manage passenger vessels worldwide.

Our publication’s title might be sounding uncommonly in the ears of outsiders. However, the industry’s professionals and experts do certainly know what is behind the abbreviation: The modern combination of a RoRo and passenger ferry; a vessel type that provides extensive cargo capacity as well as a comfortable accommodation for passengers. Thus our publication is focused on all features of the world of Ferry Shipping; i.e. it will cover pure RoRo and ConRo vessels as well as combined passenger and car ferries but also High Speed craft. RoPax provides its readers with comprehensive information comprising strategic interviews with the industry’s decision-makers, market analyses, presentations of new and rebuilt vessels as well as reports on notably projects and trends. The RoPax content is completed by a choice of newbuilding data sheets and current deliveries. RoPax offers a yearly overview about all main activities in the ferry industry.

Ships are being used successfully to bring life-saving and life-changing surgical care to people who lack access to this essential healthcare.

Mercy Ships – Interferry’s Charity of Choice – operates hospital ships, each with 400-600 volunteer crew members, to provide essential surgeries in developing nations, whilst also providing training to local surgeons, nurses and other medical personnel.

Mercy Ships depends on the support of its corporate partners. Please reach out to Arjen van der Wolf or Gerardo Vangioni at the Interferry2025 conference to ask how we can work together to touch the lives of people in desperate need. A simple, but wonderful option would be to bring excitement to ferry passengers by providing them with information about how they can be involved in changing the world for the better.

Follow the example of FRS with their campaign onboard FRS ferries worldwide.

Or join the action taken by CARUS to give the work of Mercy Ships a boost.
